We had an excellent meal, Memorable thanks to the extremely welcoming team, especially Bobby, John, and Sandrine. They were incredibly welcoming, and we ate excellent food. We highly recommend this place. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Superb restaurant! A delicious meal from start to finish, an incredibly tender and flavorful flank steak, and a superb chocolate mousse! The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The price was very reasonable considering the quality and quantity. I highly recommend it!

A wonderful and very attentive waitress. The Salers rib-eye steak was cooked perfectly... rare. The truffade was a delicious discovery. Very generous portions. Highly recommended.

Very nice restaurant, tastefully decorated, fast service (out of season), nothing to complain about regarding the quality of the food and service, meat cooked over a wood fire was a delight.

We stopped by for a meal during our holiday and we really enjoyed it. The wood-fired food was delicious and the service was excellent; the waitress was incredibly kind :) She even brought crayons for our two-year-old :) I highly recommend it for a relaxed, home-style meal; it's the perfect place :)

16/03/2026: During a weekend hiking trip in this beautiful region, we had dinner at this restaurant (without a reservation). The setting is typical of the area, and the dishes were delicious, generous, and flavorful. We had a lovely evening. The staff was helpful and tried to serve us quickly. A great place to eat.
14/03/2026: Fantastic experience at La Vieille Étable in Le Mont-Dore! We had fondues with Saint-Nectaire and two cheeses to share: they were delicious and very generous portions; we even had trouble finishing them! Typical mountain dishes, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and very friendly staff. A great place to eat if you're visiting Le Mont-Dore. Bonus: the restaurant is open even outside of school holidays—thank you to them!
