26/05/2026: The best pizzas I've ever tasted. Thin crust and absolutely divine toppings. Baked in a stone oven. I go every year and am never disappointed. The desserts are just as delicious. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, not to mention the town itself, of course. All at a reasonable price.

01/06/2026: I have rarely experienced such a warm welcome as at this restaurant. The lady who greeted us was charming and very welcoming; she clearly knew her stuff when describing the dishes. The food was delicious; we ordered the ravioli and the beef skewers. We called ahead because we were arriving a bit late, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The wine selection is very reasonably priced, and the terrace and setting are lovely. I highly recommend it!

The pizzas are generous, the toppings are flavorful, and the desserts are delicious. A truly wonderful place that I highly recommend!

15/06/2026: We discovered the Auberge de la Golmotte during our holiday in Mont Dore and had a very pleasant time. We opted for the à la carte menu. The foie gras with homemade gingerbread was generous and excellent. The plates were also beautiful to look at, sprinkled with garden pea leaves – a delightful culinary discovery. The scallop dish was truly succulent with a shallot sauce and various equally delicious side dishes. Mashed potatoes, ratatouille, and candied carrots with their tops, while not groundbreaking, were also perfect in terms of both cooking and seasoning. As for dessert, the homemade pear sorbet and the praline chocolate crisp were simply divine! The ingredients are incredibly fresh and of high quality. The service is discreet yet friendly, and the serenity of this restaurant contributes to making the meal a truly delightful experience. Thank you to the chef and thank you to the waitress. We will return on our next stay in Mont Dore.

29/05/2026: A very nice hotel. It only has 3 stars, but it's worth more thanks to the staff, the very comfortable rooms, the swimming pool with its terrace, and the breakfast (don't miss Maria's homemade crepes, which are actually "msemen" for those who know them). Ideally located for starting hikes (by bike or on foot). I stayed there for 5 days and, from what I've seen in Mont Dore, this hotel is, in my opinion, the best in the area. No hesitation needed.

08/06/2026: During the first week of June 2026, my husband and I went on a hiking tour around the Sancy mountains, organized by Chamina. We stayed two nights at the Grand Hôtel du Mont-Dore. Since the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, meals are outsourced to various restaurants in town. For our second dinner, we were expected at the 10 50 restaurant in Mont-Dore. In a typically Auvergne setting, we naturally expected to discover local specialties, especially since the restaurant seemed to showcase regional cuisine and cheese-based dishes. As we sat down, we observed the plates being served to the other customers: raclette, cheese gratins, and other particularly appetizing specialties. After a day of hiking in the cold and rain, it immediately made our mouths water. How disappointed we were when the waiter presented our menu: for a starter, vegetable soup or focaccia; for the main course, a turkey skewer with rice; For dessert, a tub of fromage blanc. Nothing in this meal resembled the region's specialties or even the spirit of the restaurant's menu. My husband chose the focaccia, which turned out to be a simple cold bread topped with a slice of tomato, a little ham, and a rather greasy sauce. The whole thing was unappetizing. As for me, I opted for the vegetable soup. It was a very basic blended soup, similar to what you might make at home, but it seemed ill-suited to a meal served in a restaurant. Unfortunately, the main course didn't improve matters. The turkey skewer was dry, bland, and seemed to have been simply cooked without any real preparation. The rice was dry and served with a sauce that looked more like a commercial condiment than a homemade one. We felt we were served a very ordinary daily special, far from the expectations one would have in an establishment of this type. Even the bread reinforced this impression of unequal treatment: we received a dry baguette while other tables had country bread that was visibly fresher and of higher quality. This experience left us perplexed. What is the point of accepting customers referred by Chamina and the Grand Hotel if they are to be offered such a different experience from that served to other diners? We sincerely felt we were treated differently, and less favorably, than the other restaurant patrons. This is all the more regrettable given that the setting and the specialties offered to other tables presented a much more appealing image of the establishment. Our disappointment was therefore commensurate with our expectations. Between the very disappointing quality of the meal, the feeling of being treated differently from other customers, and a dinner rushed through in less than 40 minutes without even being able to enjoy our aperitif in peace, this experience left us with a very negative impression. This is regrettable in a region where gastronomy and hospitality are such strong points.

05/06/2026: The Pitsounet inn is a unique place, known for its friendly atmosphere and regional menu. I highly recommend it; it's a very good restaurant at the foot of the Sancy mountain in Auvergne, near Mont Dores. Congratulations to the new owner!

08/01/2026: I'm a spa guest and have been going there for three years on a full-board basis. The owner, Romain, is incredibly helpful, as are the staff. Everyone is very friendly. As for the meals, I have no complaints; I don't eat better at home. Discretion, respect, nothing to criticize. Just one small drawback: the Wi-Fi quality in the rooms.

18/05/2026: A reservation was imposed at noon under the pretext that the restaurant was full… even though it was practically empty when we arrived. We were seated six people around a low table that was unsuitable for eating properly. The service was disastrous from beginning to end: mistakes with the appetizers, ridiculously small portions for the price. The truffade with Saint-Nectaire cheese, advertised as serving four, was barely two normal portions. At €23 for potatoes and cheese, with such small quantities, it's unacceptable. There was no space on the table: the charcuterie platter and bread ended up on the windowsill and the neighboring table. We left the restaurant still hungry. The staff's behavior was also shocking: smoking during service, eating ice cream in front of customers while paying, making inappropriate remarks and insults. Furthermore, it was impossible to pay by card due to a supposed connection problem; we were forced to pay in cash. A deplorable experience from beginning to end. I urge the relevant authorities to come and inspect the working and hygiene conditions of this establishment.

17/05/2026: If you're passing through Mont-Dore, you absolutely must stop at the Auberge des Skieurs – delicious food and a super friendly owner. We've been coming several times, and it's always fantastic! 👍👍👍👍
