Le Bonaparte sur Cassis

We came this Thursday with four adults and two children. We received a very warm welcome from Jean-Marie, who immediately made us feel at ease. He offered us the daily menu, which was excellent, and was very attentive to us, especially our two young children. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I highly recommend this family-run restaurant with its homemade food; it was a real treat. We look forward to returning.

Delicious fish and a truly pleasant experience! 🐟 I told the staff about my gluten-free needs, and they were immediately very helpful, carefully advising me on what I could eat. I really appreciated the care and attention taken to prevent cross-contamination. They also have gluten-free bread, which I found very positive. The staff was kind and attentive throughout the dinner. And, as a pleasant final surprise, they offered us a taste of their house digestif: delicious! 😋 A restaurant where, in addition to eating well, you feel truly welcomed and cared for. Highly recommended!

Positive: Excellent rib-eye steak, cooked to perfection, ultra-fast service, nothing forgotten on the table, chilled white wine, fresh bread basket, chilled water, clean cutlery. Negative: The side dishes were tiny, child-sized portions of simple potato and half a minuscule endive. The tables were a bit cramped, and after a 30-minute wait for the bill, no one came, so I had to go to the till and insist on paying! I deducted one star out of five for these reasons. Overall, it's a very good restaurant.

The fisherman's platter is super original and very good. Very friendly welcome.

We've been going to Le Bonaparte for over 25 years… you could say this restaurant is practically part of our history in Cassis. Jean-Marie watched my children grow up, and it's always been our go-to spot. Whether it's for lunch between dives—and in my opinion, one of the best value-for-money options in Cassis—or for a family dinner. My mother (Chantal) is 91 years old now, and for her, a trip to Cassis wouldn't be complete without going to "Jean-Marie's"! In the evening, the fish is always top-notch, fresh and perfectly prepared, and the fish soup is simply divine, not to mention the oysters, the shrimp… But beyond the food, it's the warm welcome, the kindness, the simplicity, and that genuine loyalty that keeps us coming back after more than 25 years with the same pleasure. A true Cassis institution, the kind we hope will remain for a long time.
