A very warm welcome at Le Boute en Train! A friendly atmosphere with a real "bouillon" vibe, simple and welcoming, just the way we like it. The value for money is quite reasonable: €92 for three people including aperitif, starter, main course, dessert, and wine. A pleasant place to have a good time without breaking the bank. 😊

Finally, a restaurant that gets it! Generous portions for every dish, more than reasonable prices that allow us to order a starter, main course, and dessert every time we go (whereas we would have only ordered one overpriced dish at another restaurant), and to top it all off, delicious food, traditional dishes that are a joy to find on our plates. Even the service is top-notch 👍 We can book online and the response is always quick. In short, a comforting restaurant, the kind that sadly becomes rare these days 🥲

Excellent value for money. I had the roasted Camembert with fries, which I highly recommend, and my friend had the kidneys, which were excellent. Kudos to the young apprentice who served and chatted with us; he seemed very dedicated! Don't forget to book ahead, as it's often full.

A very pleasant and varied place. The menu is quite cohesive, however, the portions are small, though tasty. It's a shame to leave the table still feeling hungry. But the price is reasonable for a restaurant in La Rochelle. On the other hand, a roasted Camembert for almost €20 with fries is sorely lacking in charcuterie for that price.

23/02/2026: They know how to deliver excellent value for money, and the dishes are generous and delicious 😋 as for the staff, they are lovely, nothing to complain about. Go for it if you want to eat well.
18/02/2026: All the surrounding restaurants were full or had reservations. So we went to Bistrot d'la chaine, where there was only one table occupied. We were pleasantly surprised. The friendly service and the delicious appetizer, oysters and sparkling wine, as well as the main course: simply delicious! We communicated well in English. Mid-May 2023 We highly recommend this.
