Le Cabestan sur Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue

We came twice this month. Once at 10 pm, there were seven of us, and we were just there for dessert. We were greeted with a smile even though they hadn't finished serving. The second time, we came without hesitation, and they found a table for seven. So thank you! The meals were excellent, the cocktails too, and as the kids would say, yum, the ice cream! Thanks again. Have a great end to the season, and we'll definitely be back in the off-season because, yes, restaurants need local customers the rest of the year.

The food was decent, but the portions were quite small. I was disappointed by the French toast, which wasn't actually "lost" and was served with only half a scoop of ice cream. The welcome and service were adequate.

The food is good. I had to try three chairs before finding one that wasn't broken. At the end of August, the service is provided by inexperienced young people, which makes order taking (20-minute wait), table service, and clearing tables slow. Prices are high considering the quality and location.

We received a very warm welcome and we ate well.

It's a shame, I'm generally disappointed with my dinner. Starter/6 oysters: be careful before serving the dish! There were pieces of shell in my oysters + one of them was full of mud and smelled bad (the chef should have noticed) + no finger bowls, I had to ask for some. Main course/Cod with coconut/curry sauce: the fish was cooked well, but unfortunately the portion of rice was ridiculously small (it wasn't expensive) and the sauce was bland and tasteless. Dessert/crème brûlée: a huge disappointment, it didn't taste like crème brûlée. Crème brûlée is so simple! Compared to that, you might as well eat a supermarket dessert; it would be almost better. I'm surprised by the reviews describing "delicious home cooking" because nothing here seems "homemade" but rather "from a supermarket." The service, while not always very efficient, does its best. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but it should help the restaurant owner raise the bar and improve. So go for it!

The surf and turf platter was very disappointing in terms of quantity, however, the salad was excellent.

A very pleasant restaurant. The food is good, and the menu offers enough variety to suit everyone's tastes. The service is excellent and quite fast, even during peak hours. I'll be back.

The welcome was warm and the service quite fast. However, one small point for improvement: all four plates we were served were chipped. It's a shame, because this kind of detail detracts from the overall impression.
