What a lovely surprise in the heart of my beloved Brittany! A very kind and friendly owner, a professional waiter with a radiant smile, delicious burgers, a charming interior, reasonable prices, good wine and good beer. What more could you ask for? This would be/become my favorite bar/restaurant if I lived here. Thank you and all the best!

This is a great pub, a little piece of England with some great beers, and food cooked by Landlord/owner John. We are travelling in our Motorhome and John kindly allowed us to stay the night on the large carpark belonging to the pub, if you buy food and beer, no fee for the stopover. Naomi was running the bar, so friendly and speaks perfect English too. The steak burger was delicious and the salmon dish light and healthy. The beers, (real ale on draught) were superb. We ran a tab and paid for everything at the end of the evening. Highly recommend and we will be back next time we are in this area. Thank you.

A little slice of England that's absolutely worth discovering. A pub just like you'd find across the Channel. Great music, quality food. John knows exactly what he's doing. His burgers are fabulous.

A really great place that we've only just discovered, even though we come to the area very regularly. The owners are super cool and the hamburgers are very good! (I didn't get a chance to try the rooms.)

We often visit le black dog when we come to France, we love the hospitality of all staff and the food is always remarkable, on this visit we had a 30th birthday celebration and Lisa and John went above and beyond to cater for this and make our evening fun and enjoyable, the new menu was great and all food was delicious. Thank you x

30/05/2026: Excellent service despite our late arrival. Excellent menu, very pleasant setting. Highly recommended.
28/05/2026: My family were visiting Brittany from South Wales, we drove the lake this restaurant is situated. Because it had a little beach area and went to this restaurant after our swim (Lunchtime). The staff were very friendly and our waitress was very patient with our lack of French (we are learning 'slowly'). The lunchtime menu consisted of order off a set menu with €25 or €35 options and ordering individual meals off the Al a carte menu. The lasagne my wife and I had was fantastic and the children enjoyed their's. The dessert was at a very high standard as I would have expected from French cuisine. So compliments to the chef. Highly recommend Excellent service Reasonably priced. Would return if we holiday in Brittany again.
