Le Café du Centre sur Bastia

Excellent all-you-can-eat continental breakfast and a great waiter!

Came here needing a quick lunch before our boat trip to Cap Corse. The waiter was absolutely delightful speaking to me in French even though mine is pretty dreadful, I think they were appreciative that I was trying more than anything. We sat outside on the terrasse and whilst there was some sun encroaching onto the table the waiter was kind enough to extend the awning further so we could be fully in the shade. We ordered some beer and sparkling water for drinks and for mains, we got the chicken penne salad, the corsican salad and the tarte du jour (which was corsican cheese and vegetable). The food arrived pretty quick and was mostly delicious, especially the cheese used in the corsican salad, wow!! I would love to know the cheese they used as it was the thing the went quickest on the plate. The chicken salad was nice but maybe a bit too much pasta, which needed some more seasoning because when I got to the pasta it tasted quite plain but didn't ruin the dish at all. The tarte was the highlight for us, firstly the portion size was huge, the pastry was incredible and the filling was exceptional. Nothing was bad about the tarte, probably one of the best we've had! Overall, a lovely little eatery in the heart of Bastia which I would highly recommend if you're in the area.

We ate there with a group. It was very good 👍 👌. The menu was excellent: salad as a starter, roast duck pink, and a delicious dessert. The waiter provided great service; he was friendly and efficient. We highly recommend this restaurant.
