A modern art museum inside a cultural complex.

40 minutes flat was enough to cover the three floors. Contemporary art always completely divides. We like the exhibition or not. It's easy to guess what I thought of my visit with 40 minutes on the clock. I had more fun eating a slice of homemade apple pie on the way home than during this contemporary escapade, but maybe I'll like the next one more... Who knows?

Not all audiences, you must already be experienced in this artistic genre to be captivated by the different exhibitions

Definitely, I have difficulty with the exhibitions in this museum, the extreme contemporary art represented there does not please me... A question of taste...

I'm just passing by but very tempting to go in

The place is very pleasant, between the Rhône and the Parc de la Tête d'Or but the exhibitions that I have seen there over the last 6 years do not encourage me to come back. I like contemporary art but like everywhere, there is good and less good, it's a shame to have selected the less good. It's a matter of taste, everyone will have their own.

Facade 🏛 not the most remarkable. Variable exposures, so as everyone makes evaluations based on their experience, it cannot be impartial and objective. I consider Takano extra. The place is interesting. It's worth visiting if you're in the city 🏙 of Lyon for a stay of around a week. If not, there is something more sensible. That's what my visiting friends told me after I showed them around earlier this month. I can only say that modern art is different from what we traditionally visit. So it doesn't appeal to everyone. We can also estimate that, like street art 🎨, it is an evolution that will become considered classic over time... A word of advice, not all artistic works are identified with a badge 📛 under 10 or under 12 years old. So it is up to any responsible adult to do their research in advance, before taking children. Just a matter of common sense.

Aya Takano’s “new mythology” exhibition is one of the most beautiful I have seen! A pleasure for the eyes and for the heart. The museum employees are also all very friendly.

It was a pretty good modern art museum. They had 3 unique exhibits although one was extremely small and was a series of the same piece of art but with a few differences. Worth checking out if you have the time or an exhibit is interesting to you but not a priority if you are on a time crunch. Definitely do not go here with too many expectations.
