Mixed feelings. The welcome and service were a bit odd; they weren't really attentive to our needs and didn't seem to know their own menu. A bottle of wine was simply placed in front of us—right in front of our noses, in our hands—in place of the dish that was about to arrive. The menu was small, but the meal itself wasn't very tasty.

The welcome was nothing special, the draft beer was stale, and the mussels were lukewarm. The waiter seemed a bit lost among the tables. A very unremarkable experience; I won't be going back.

Despite some less-than-glowing reviews, we decided to try dinner. The staff were friendly and the mussels were excellent. The service was quick, but it felt more like they were just trying to free up a table as soon as possible. We enjoyed the meal, but the desserts are very expensive, no doubt due to the seaside location. The "revisited" tiramisu was nothing like a tiramisu at all. No coffee, no cake, and I'm not even sure there was any mascarpone either. There was a lot of whipped cream, making it a very expensive dessert in the end.

The seafood platter was perfect. The aioli was excellent, and the seafood was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The service was friendly and professional. The location was ideal.

03/05/2026: We had a wonderful time at this brasserie, which offers a great introduction to Basque cuisine. The service is incredibly friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable, especially for the daily special. Don't let the exterior put you off!
18/02/2026: A very good lunch spot, popular with regulars and locals... the menu is simple, high-quality, and family-friendly, changing daily (regulars come every day). The chef has managed to retain the touch of Ramuntcho, the former Basque chef and owner... and that's a good thing! The service is efficient, friendly, and cheerful. The cuisine has a market-fresh, southwestern flair.
