A relaxed yet studious, family atmosphere. Joël and his team go the extra mile to serve you. A colorful and authentic character, proud of his roots, his civic engagement, and his love of good food, he runs this establishment with his family in a cheerful atmosphere. The cuisine is locally sourced and therefore ultra-fresh, and a smile was included with the service. There was a good selection, quality food, and very reasonable prices. A quality establishment with the Bistrot de Pays label, a must-stop on your way to or from Cerdagne. A well-deserved 5/5.

A perfectly acceptable bistro for lunch. We ordered a salad and a daily special, and it was more than enough. With water and a soft drink, it came to €29, a very good price. The place itself has a large, lovely terrace with plenty of shade from both trees and awnings, offering respite from the heat.

We stayed two weeks near Villefranche and came to this bar several times after our walks and visits. Everything was impeccable: the kindness and good humor of the waiters and waitresses, the speed of service both at the bar and in the restaurant, and the fact that dogs are allowed on the terrace. Without us even being asked, they offered us water for our dog. THANK YOU!!! Best wishes to you and your team and a wonderful 2026 season. Le Canigou is our go-to bar in Villefranche.

We were absolutely blown away. The value for money is excellent: we ate very well for a very reasonable price.
But the best part was the service. The waiters were very professional, attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humor, creating a very pleasant atmosphere throughout the meal.
Without a doubt, a place we will return to and that we wholeheartedly recommend.

We had lunch there. Two daily specials and a Serrano ham and cheese salad. It was delicious and generous. The two waitresses were lovely; they came to offer and bring water for our dog and gave him cuddles. Truly charming! We highly recommend it!!

Fantastic restaurant! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal 😋. We ate under the trees in the shade, even in the intense heat. The servers were incredibly attentive. We'll definitely be back!
