Good and plentiful food. It's a shame the terraces aren't yet non-smoking; it's really annoying when you can't stand smoke.

We had a wonderful experience at Le Cantou in Collonges-la-Rouge, where we dined during our visit to this beautiful village. We arrived quite late, around 9 pm, while it was raining outside. Despite the late hour and the approaching end of the evening, we received a very warm welcome. The staff continued to provide excellent service with great professionalism and energy, and we never felt like we were intruding. We were seated inside, near the stairs, in a truly lovely corner. The atmosphere was very cozy, almost romantic, especially with the rain outside and the restaurant's tranquility. The decor is charming and perfectly captures the spirit of Collonges-la-Rouge. Even at the entrance, with the postcards on offer, you can feel the local connection and attachment to the village, which adds to the character of the place. As for the food, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We particularly enjoyed the Limousin beef rump steak with its Limousin sauce. The meat was very tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Frankly, it was delicious. The lamb sweetbreads with porcini mushrooms were also excellent, very rich and full of flavor. The combination with the porcini mushrooms worked beautifully, and the dish was particularly delicious. We also really enjoyed the omelet, which was very well made, light, flavorful, and perfectly executed. It's the kind of regional dish that looks simple but requires real skill, and here it was very well done. And to finish, we thoroughly enjoyed the walnut tart, which was very rich and truly delicious. A very good way to end the meal. In short, we had a wonderful evening at Le Cantou. The setting was warm, the atmosphere pleasant, the service professional and welcoming despite our late arrival, and the food truly delicious. Between the Limousin beef, the lamb sweetbreads with porcini mushrooms, the omelet, and the walnut tart, we truly felt we were enjoying generous, regional cuisine in a charming setting. A wonderful place to discover in Collonges-la-Rouge, especially if you're looking for an authentic, warm, and pleasant dining experience.

Fantastic restaurant! There were 11 of us, including two young children. All the dishes were excellent, the service was efficient, very understanding, and accommodating with the children. A truly pleasant and attentive team + lovely decor + a huge thank you to Emilie who was incredibly kind and patient. You absolutely must stop by!!
