Le Carcanet sur Formigueres

The pancakes are hearty and the omelette is excellent 😉 A place where you quickly feel at ease!

We went to have an aperitif, they gave us a very good cheese board and they treated us great. The site is very beautiful.

During our vacation in Formiguères, we wanted to enjoy crepes with family and chose to go to **LA CARCANET**. The reception was OK, but I still felt a certain reserve. The smile seemed a little forced, and the exchanges with the waiter, who seemed to be in charge, remained cordial but lacked warmth. This tarnished the experience a bit from the start. For an aperitif, we opted for the house sangria, which was pleasant, but not exceptional. The orange juices, on the other hand, were completely standard, probably coming from a mass-market brand (Metro). The pancakes were quite generous in terms of portions, but the value for money leaves something to be desired. The excessive price of the latter is not really justified, especially since the products used, although correct, do not particularly stand out (probably from standard suppliers like Metro). The sweet crepes were good, but I would have appreciated a salted butter caramel to stay true to Breton authenticity, especially in a creperie that offers Breton cider. The "standard" caramel used was a bit disappointing in this regard. Although we had a lovely time as a family and the pancakes were satisfying, they were not exceptional enough to warrant a return. The value for money is clearly not up to par. For a total of €100 (4 pancakes, 4 sugar crepes and 4 appetizers), I have already had much more memorable meals elsewhere for this price. We won't be coming back.

Several of us went there for the lunch break, the welcome was warm, the pancakes were good and well stocked. A good address for sure!
