Niquel starter, the piquillo sauce that never fails.
The duck with its mash, very good but a little dry. A bit of sauce or less intense cooking would be appreciated.
The choice of wine was recommended to us based on a personal choice: not too tamed.
Good recommendation.
The service is great, the servers are polite and smiling.
I recommend for an evening!

We really enjoyed our experience of Le Carreau. It was very busy for a Monday night, but we still had excellent service. We shared the cote de boeuf (with fries AND mash!) alongside a beautiful local red wine. Fantastic quality and good value for money.

Pretty good food, good products served in a fairly “raw” way.
Pleasant setting and atmosphere.
Service on the other hand very poor:
- late and laborious order taking
- very long waiting time
- cooking not respected > the meat goes back to the kitchen > we all eat out of turn...
- not a word of apology from the waitress who obviously seemed very unconcerned about her service
In short, a team of young people, even very young people, who are not very professional and who do not provide a service to a fine establishment...

The place is nice, open kitchen, professional waiter
The products are of quality, it shows
Except that it’s a shame not to enhance them.
I had squid 🦑 with parsley as a starter. The palate lacked parsley or something that would make the product stand out.
Same for a dish, an octopus tentacle with small vegetables. Missing a sauce that could accompany the whole thing (e.g. a sauce verde or other)
In short, I was rather disappointed by the little extra touch on the plate which would have made the difference

Must go place to have dinner in Bourdeaux. Quality-price unbeatable, great food quality and waiters attentive to all clients. (35€ pax ordering 2 entrees and a main dish)
