Le Chalet sur Royan

16/05/2026: We arrived without a reservation, craving mussels and fries in Royan. We were seated within a minute. Two soft drinks and two plates of mussels and fries: €44. We were served in under five minutes. The waiters were friendly and welcoming. We were able to sit in the sun (there were also shaded spots), overlooking the marina. The setting was fantastic! The curried mussels were very good, quite spicy (something to keep in mind for those who don't like it spicy at all). The mussels with chorizo ​​were excellent. Not spicy at all, actually. A few of the mussels were closed and not all were huge, but you can't fault a restaurant for that! Things happen. And the taste more than made up for it: they were delicious! In short, a great experience, very good food, seated and served very quickly: I highly recommend it!
