Don't leave Guingamp without eating at this restaurant. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once inside, you'll feel like you've stepped back into the Middle Ages. The food is plentiful and high-quality, thanks to fresh, local ingredients. It's also excellent value for money.

Don't leave Moncontour without eating at Le Chaudron Magique (The Magic Cauldron), which is exactly what we did today. The welcome is warm, and the dining room truly transports you to the Middle Ages! The menu is beautiful and very inventive. The vegetarian menu is a proper menu, and quite appealing. I'll have to come back and try it... The service is quick. Let's talk about our dishes: everything is fresh and seasonal! I had gravlax salmon with a well-seasoned mixed salad. It was delicious. The fish, hake I think, came with a delicious beurre blanc sauce and seasonal vegetables. The portion was very generous. To finish, I had a homemade crème caramel, which was perfect! What a wonderful discovery!

22/02/2026: We stopped for lunch before exploring the city. The welcome was incredibly warm. The food was plentiful and, above all, delicious. The prices reflected the quality of the service. An authentic, friendly, and fair experience in a touristy city. A nice touch: they provided a map for exploring the city.
08/01/2026: We ate for €15 (starter/main/dessert). It's simple but tasty, well-prepared. Fresh ingredients. The owner is as friendly as he is versatile 😉.

17/02/2026: We discovered the inn after the change of ownership...and what a pleasant surprise! The place has completely transformed: a warm atmosphere, a truly medieval world revisited with elegance, and above all, an original and accessible tapas concept. You create your own feast freely, choosing from a variety of portions, which allows you to try everything. Continuous service from 10 am to 10 pm is rare and very much appreciated. The kebabs are delicious, the seafood incredibly fresh (special mention for the oyster and shrimp platter), and the cheeses and charcuterie are well-chosen. We especially loved the truffle toast and the Breton far with salted caramel. You can feel a real commitment to quality, to modernizing while preserving the inn's spirit. The service is welcoming and friendly, and you feel valued. An address that deserves to be (re)discovered. Congratulations on this wonderful transformation!
