Don't leave Moncontour without eating at Le Chaudron Magique (The Magic Cauldron), which is exactly what we did today. The welcome is warm, and the dining room truly transports you to the Middle Ages! The menu is beautiful and very inventive. The vegetarian menu is a proper menu, and quite appealing. I'll have to come back and try it... The service is quick. Let's talk about our dishes: everything is fresh and seasonal! I had gravlax salmon with a well-seasoned mixed salad. It was delicious. The fish, hake I think, came with a delicious beurre blanc sauce and seasonal vegetables. The portion was very generous. To finish, I had a homemade crème caramel, which was perfect! What a wonderful discovery!

We had a wonderful time at Le Chaudron Magique. Delicious medieval appetizers, authentic and flavorful cuisine, and you can tell everything is homemade with quality ingredients. The establishment is beautifully decorated with painted tables and medieval weapons and armor. A bonus: the opportunity to wear costumes.
