Le Chenin sur Savennieres

We were handed the menu with the words, "Our menu." However, the menu only listed either a four-course or a six-course menu. When we inquired, we were told that the dishes weren't announced beforehand; that was the concept. We didn't understand why we were given a menu at all. The choice was between meat and fish. There was an incredibly extensive wine list (which overwhelmed us). The food was disappointing, especially considering the high prices. Some of it was bland. In our opinion, there was a lot of unnecessary talk (you need to be fluent in French to understand it), but the individual courses didn't live up to the hype. The ambiance was lovely, in a beautiful location.

Lots of originality and subtle flavors

A six-course tasting menu with wine pairings, enjoyed with family for a special occasion. Exceptional in its quality and the delicacy of its flavors. Refined cuisine, perfectly balanced in portion size.

A pleasant place, a friendly team and excellent food, but the wait between courses is sometimes a little long and why on earth play jazz music in the background; a restaurant is a place where you talk, not a concert hall!
