Stopped in for a light lunch, and had wonderful escargot and chèvre flan salad. The restaurant is beautiful inside, the service was wonderful and food was all delicious

Upon arriving in Nîmes, we were looking for a restaurant serving good local cuisine. No fast food or junk food. And luckily, we found Le Cheval Blanc. The restaurant is ideally located opposite the arena, and its decor evokes the world of bullfighting, with its colors, artwork, and bullfighter costumes. The staff is professional and very welcoming. The dishes are generous and delicious. In short, a pleasant lunch in an artistic and warm atmosphere.

Excellent value for money. Top-notch service. A minor drawback: the red wine by the glass was served ice-cold.

We had a wonderful time on New Year's Eve. We had a reservation, and the waitress was kind enough to move us to a different table at our request. We weren't disappointed, and as usual, we enjoyed a delicious and high-quality meal. The service was excellent, and the staff were all smiles despite the number of tables they were managing. For next year, they might want to create a slightly more festive atmosphere for a New Year's Eve party, perhaps with music or something similar. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

A typical Nîmes setting, a warm welcome, no waiting, carefully prepared homemade cuisine, and all at a reasonable price! Plus, the owner makes the rounds of the tables to chat with his customers about his olive trees... Well done, Michel, and keep up the good work!

Good food, friendly service and warm environment.

We organized a family meal... a separate room, a projection screen, impeccable service and we ate very well!

What a shame. I had really good reviews about this establishment. I noted that the service was perfect, with professional waiters. However, the food was a different story. For my starter, I ordered oysters, which were served in a soup plate, leaving the liquid at the bottom... One plate with two slices of wholemeal bread, vinegar, and butter on another plate. No presentation whatsoever, but €14 a plate. Then, for the main course, the menu listed lamb sweetbreads, a dish I adore.... Big mistake!!! The dish arrived barely warm; it tasted like reheated food, with two ladles of mashed potatoes dumped on top and a tablespoon of leeks in sauce. €28. Still no presentation. My sister-in-law sent back her pollock fillet because it was also cold. My wife ordered a steak with fries, which were very good, but the steak we ordered was overcooked. It arrived on a large white plate with no sauce offered and no presentation whatsoever. Considering the price, the dishes are not up to standard; the chef seriously needs to rethink his approach.

I highly recommend this place. Furthermore, the staff are incredibly attentive.

Friendly welcome, even without a reservation. We chose the daily special for €16, announced by the waitress as including a starter, main course, dessert, and a glass of wine. The portions were decent for the price, and we found the overall package acceptable. However, when it came time to pay, the bill came to €49 instead of the expected €32 (plus two extra coffees). Surprised, we asked for an explanation: the counter attendant initially responded somewhat haughtily before becoming more accommodating. We would have chosen another dish if the actual price had been clearly stated from the start. No goodwill gesture was offered. The meal was good, without being exceptional, and the dessert was rather average. A lack of professionalism from the staff is noteworthy.
