28/11/2023: Strange pub from the bar you can see man toilet (pisoars) which have half doors like in the "wild west pub" opening in both direction. If you are drunk maybe is a good place :-)
25/11/2023: Yesterday, I spent a fantastic, warm evening with friends, I felt like family.
The bar of the two balds, a real discovery.
A real place, seemingly without apparent appeal, with a hybrid and simple decoration. Exposed stone walls, a panel, industrial style bar lamps, black, a beige marble zinc, wooden crates carry the bottles on the wall, and then fairly ordinary tables and chairs.
The owner, Raph, dressed all in black, a friendly red cap on backwards, and a large beard reassuringly good-natured from a bygone era, with a detached look, welcomes you straight away and instantly at home.
A real bar where the atmosphere is the people. And the people around Raph drink, sometimes go out to smoke a cigarette, talk to each other, then meet again at the bar, continue their conversation or not, like when we meet at a mutual friend's house.
And I, who thought at first glance that we would not linger more than twenty minutes maximum for this last drink, I realize that we have settled into an atmosphere where Raph, the master of the place, through his extraordinary kindness, his relaxation, his unique spirit of a creative engineer, secretly distills a comfort, an authentic generosity, kind looks, the comfort and reassurance of being with someone good who is above all there to welcome you and share.
At Les Deux Baldes, I had a first experience of being not only outside like at home, but also in a fairly bare place, like a theater set designed as such, so that every evening the actors could play a different score. around the main actor, Raph, who alone is the soul, the charm and the touching authenticity of a place which, as in life, is made up of seemingly different minimalist elements of no importance, to leave the place at the moment to exist fully without tinsel, just in being quite simply, precisely, pleasantly in all lightness in all conviviality, with a lot of humanity, humor and honesty.
What a delicious evening.
