We visited Le Bistrot Saint Roch yesterday evening and it was lovely. Our French is pretty awful, but both waitresses were kind and patient with us. The little cat, Sky, was also very kind to us. The food was beautiful and delicious. We are so glad to have decided to pop in. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area.

Bistrot Saint Roch — An Exceptional Lunch in the Alpilles I had lunch at Bistrot Saint Roch in Maussane-les-Alpilles, and it was a truly memorable experience. The Setting: Nestled in the heart of the Alpilles, the establishment exudes authentic Provençal charm, both elegant and welcoming. The sun-drenched terrace, the refined décor, and the peaceful atmosphere so characteristic of the region create an ideal setting to take the time to savor a truly delightful moment. The Service: The team welcomed us with genuine kindness and true professionalism. The attentive and helpful staff paced the meal perfectly, never rushing us—a thoughtful touch that made all the difference in fully enjoying lunch. The Dishes: We started with the Burgundy snails in homemade garlic butter, a perfectly executed classic, generous and flavorful. As a starter, the country terrine with its accompanying green salad delighted us with its texture and authentic flavor, all presented with a controlled simplicity. For the main course, the revisited bistro aioli pleasantly surprised us: the crisp vegetables and cod loin brought a lovely freshness, while respecting the traditional spirit of the dish. The veal picanha, meanwhile, was a real winner—perfectly cooked, with a flavorful jus, meltingly tender roasted carrot, and creamy mashed potatoes on the side. A generous and exquisitely refined dish. In short, Le Bistrot Saint Roch is an address I warmly recommend: an enchanting setting, attentive service, and refined cuisine where each dish demonstrates true expertise. We will return with great pleasure.

The food was exceptionally good, the atmosphere was lovely, and while the service staff was friendly, they were unfortunately understaffed. We simply waited too long to give it a 5. This unfortunately marred our experience.

I had the pleasure of enjoying my last evening in Provence here, and I was thrilled. The service was friendly and efficient, the cuisine exciting and of high quality – it was simply perfect. The starter and main course were both outstanding. The cheese platter was intriguing, and then the dessert was fantastic. The price was very fair. I would definitely come back!

We had dinner there last night, just the two of us. The service was excellent and friendly, the place is charming, and the food was generally very good (a major drawback was the bread, which was uninteresting and probably frozen, a real shame when you're serving foie gras and good cheese). However, we were disappointed by the set menu, as it was far too generous. We would have preferred a starter and main course or a main course and dessert, which would also have reduced the bill.
