A unique experience in this magnificent place, the service is top-notch, you are treated with respect and patience, and the food is delicious.

Excellent restaurant with amazing food and friendly staff. I recommend the beef tartare and bone marrow.

We ordered a plate of carpaccio for €26 (or €28) and an XXL beef tartare for €32… with a side of new potatoes for each of us. Instead, we were brought a small bowl for two people (see attached photo). We pointed out that this was really small for two people, especially considering the price, and the response was, "Yes, we reduced the portion of potatoes because we realized people weren't finishing the side dishes." However, the prices hadn't changed, and had even gone up. So we asked for another portion, and were told it would be extra: €6 for the mini-bowl for two, which is equivalent to 9 or 10 half-potatoes. It's still excellent, but having known Georges' shop from the beginning, it's a disappointment: prices are increasing and the side portions are decreasing, without any real justification other than "people don't finish their meals so everyone suffers, but the price obviously remains unchanged."

We had a wonderful time by the river. Excellent food.

Beautiful location and the waitress was SO nice! We didn’t have a reservation but were able to snag a table outside and enjoyed some people watching in the square. The wine selection was delicious, and the food came out well prepared. The waitress was super kind and attentive, overall a really pleasant dining experience!

Today, April 6, 2026, we went to eat at Comptoir de Goerges. Il faut vraiment être là à midi pile, otherwise il faut attendre - which is clearly explained to you from the entrance. 😂😂 After we settled in one of the pretty wooden rooms, we were served by a very friendly waitress. The cuisine is truly excellent and the service perfect. The atmosphere is very pleasant. We were very satisfied and I can't recommend this restaurant. The prices are quite correct. Today, 6 April 2026, we went for lunch at Comptoir de Goerges. You really do have to be there sharp at 12 noon, otherwise you'll have to wait - something that's made very clear to you at the entrance. 😂😂After taking a seat in one of the lovely timber-panelled rooms, we were served by a very friendly waitress. The food is truly first-class and the service is perfect. The atmosphere is lovely. We were very satisfied and I can highly recommend the restaurant. The prices are all reasonable. A lovely place with a good selection of meat dishes in the Alsatian style, served in generous portions. It's delicious and has a friendly atmosphere.

Pleasant place, good quality and well-prepared food. The service, however, needs improvement: although we ordered two glasses of Gewürztraminer to accompany our dishes, we didn't receive them. A real shame! Good food, good wine. A lack of attentive staff to serve customers. The waiter was responsible for both greeting and serving.

We had loved the old Comptoir de Georges, with its warm, old-fashioned counter, generous menu, and hearty Alsatian dishes that really stuck to your ribs. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed on our last visit. The menu has been completely streamlined, clearly designed for tourists: very elegant presentation, but meager portions and high prices. What surprised us most was the ribeye steak advertised as 300g. We highly doubt it weighed that much: I think the tiny piece of meat was more like 180g, accompanied by 4 or 5 small potatoes, a tiny squirt of mashed vegetables, and a single, sad-looking carrot… As a result, we were still hungry when we left the table. We could easily have eaten three portions like that. It's no longer the rich and generous Alsatian spirit of the past. There's a clear "quick turnaround" mentality: pretty on the plate, quickly devoured in 45 minutes, and then it's time for the next customer to maximize profits. It wasn't bad, far from it; the cooking and flavors were decent. But the soul is gone, and the value for money is no longer there. It's sad to see a place that had so much character transformed like this. Unfortunately, we won't be going back.
