This upscale restaurant is housed in a hotel that is not easy to access. However, it must be recognized that once you arrive in the hall, the welcome is impeccable. The decor in golden tones is classy but lacking in certain details for this level of standing and price. The food is good and cooked just right, I was expecting more originality in the flavors. But I remain very positive about this restaurant.

Very beautiful and very good champagne cocktails. Too bad our starters arrived almost at the same time. However, everything was very good. Arriving at desserts, we were very disappointed by the fruit salad which looked like a canteen dessert served in a bowl with very roughly cut pieces. As for the chocolate dome, it was very good.

If the cuisine and the service are good, the reservation system is completely faulty: reservation accepted then rejected, a month later by simple electronic message without explanation, under the pretext that a prepayment had not been validated. However, when booking, no prepayment request was requested, and when calling the restaurant, the person on the line from the restaurant confirmed my reservation. Totally inappropriate for this level of establishment.

Unique dinner offered during the intermission of an opera. Effective for a limited time. The starter and desert were good but the fish was disappointing. We cannot base this restaurant on dinner.

This is the hotel restaurant for the Renaissance Aix-en-Provence. The staff here is decent and the breakfast buffet is large. They have a bread station, a patisserie station, a hot food area, a chef that will make you any kind of eggs you want, and then they have juices, waters, coffees, and teas. The dining room looks like a hotel dining room. It does get crazy busy during breakfast hours and stays that way for the entire time they’re doing breakfast service. The food is decent and fresh and for free, as it comes with my level of Bonvoy, I felt it was a really good deal.

La salle est toujours agréable avec, en partie, des « alcôves ». Pour le déjeuner (3 personnes), nous avions opté pour une assiette de charcuterie corse (partagée comme suggéré sur le menu). Pour « suivre » nous avons retenu les suggestions (plats du jour) proposées : viande et poisson respectivement. Qualité et quantité (portions copieuses) étaient au rendez-vous. Pour terminer nous avons choisi un dessert meringué et deux cafés gourmands (respectivement). Le rapport qualité / prix est correct (60 € par personne pour le repas, une bouteille de vin, et une bouteille d’eau). Cependant (contrairement aux années précédentes) il n’est plus pris en charge le parking payant de l’hôtel et mon courriel adressé à la direction de l’hôtel Renaissance est resté sans aucune suite ni réponse de sa part.

11/12/2024: Great food, staff and atmosphere.
10/12/2024: On a weekend in Aix, we decide to look for a pizzeria in the old town for lunch. At Jo's it's crowded but the owner suggests that we come back in a moment, which we do and our table is waiting for us. The room is small and it is not easy to sit and move around as the tables are so crowded. Before talking about the cuisine I would like to compliment the owners and the waiters: friendliness, smile, responsiveness, availability... Concerning the cuisine I will be less tender but I must point out that we live less than 45 minutes from the Ligurian coast and are used to eating Italian among Italians....at Jo's, no pizza with a blown edge like at Naples or very large pizzas with crunchy dough like in Rome. Pizza the diameter of the plate, any dough neither soft nor crispy, no mozzarella but a cheese with an aggressive taste like Comté or industrial made especially for pizza makers. As for the price, staggering! In Ventimiglia, the equivalent of what I ate (cheese pizza commonly called Marguerite or Neapolitan) is charged 7.50 or 8.00 euros. I paid 17.00 euros!!!! Given the good reception at Jo, this establishment deserves to stand out from the competition on site. Exit the bad industrial cheese and a short day of training for the pizza maker to make and cook a delicious, soft and at the same time crispy dough like our transalpine friends...

28/08/2024: Very friendly place and pleasant service however the cuisine lacks refinements. I find it quite expensive considering the dish I ate.
18/08/2024: It was a fabulous time that we spent in the Patio restaurant (small restaurant in a small street parallel to Cours Mirabeau), the warm welcome and very professional advice. The decor is original and gives the impression of being in a very cozy village square. The cuisine is delicious and generous (thanks for the doggy bags). We enjoyed chatting with the manager and his partner, who were very kind. I will just repeat one word: GO FOR IT! GO FOR IT! GO FOR IT! we know where we will go to eat next time we are in Aix-en-Provence
