Le Flobert sur Auxerre

A lovely discovery, I highly recommend it; it's rare to find a complete menu for 20 euros with original and very good dishes.

Portions are small for what you pay for. Food was very average, should have taken their menu fixed instead. Server wasn’t very helpful explaining the few dishes available in English and also wasn’t very helpful when we asked if they had a kids menu (she just bluntly said ”No” without making any other suggestions). We were surprised because other reviewers said this was a very accommodating place to eat with small children. We did get a booster seat which was appreciate, but would have appreciated a recommendation for a kid-friendly meal. I ordered a mackarel fish that came with some grilled vegetables. The sauce with it was very good however. My husband ordered the €28 steak but it arrived cold in the middle (not properly sous-vide’d) and on a cutting board instead of a warm plate to keep it warm. We left feeling hungry for an expensive meal and ended up going to the restaurant next door to eat more.
