What a little gem! We love 🇫🇷food and this place delivers - beautifully. Magret de Canard is excellent and the crème brullet exquisite. Worth a trip to Nantes for this restaurant

Ideally located at the foot of the castle, The originality of the wine list offering the glass in the 1 liter pitcher. Fresh and homemade. The cooking of the tuna was great. Smiling and efficient service. Remember to book.

This delightful little restaurant adjacent to the chateau ticked all of our French mini break boxes. I wanted somewhere classically French, without the price tag. Le Fou du Roi offers a midi menu which is €21 for two courses, €25 for three. Everything we ordered was exquisitely presented and tasted divine. The wine was delicious and very reasonably priced too. The best thing though was the location, we had a stunning view of the chateau, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the other restaurant lined streets of the centre ville. The waiting staff were delightful too, we highly recommend 🇫🇷

Adorable local restaurant with great French food and a good selection of wines and beers (including non-alcoholic beer). The service was impeccable, both in French and in English, and very friendly. The melted cheese is amazing and the duck is highly recommended.

Très bon menu. Tartare de thon, pièces du boucher, pommes de terre, salade et café gourmand pour 25,90 €. Pas de repas enfant mais un plat à 7 euros du thon avec des pommes de terre que notre fille à adorer et un dessert à la carte.

Dîner correct mais sans plus, dans ce restaurant idéalement situé en face du Château. L'accueil est souriant et professionnel, mais ne masque pas le décor défraîchi La carte est courte et fait preuve de recherche, mais l'exécution est sans grand intérêt : oeuf parfait avec une ratatouille au cumin assez fade, cuisse de canard très classique, poisson très frais mais accompagnement (asperges) trop chiche La carte des vins est intelligemment conçue Au final, le rapport qualité-prix est un peu décevant

21/07/2024: For our WEDDING on July 20, 2024, we chose the Auberge du Cens close to our home. We made our reception with delicious and unusual local white and rosé wine that the chef enhanced with unexpected, magnificent and delicious preparations that delighted our taste buds and those of our guests. We completely trusted the chef and his Inspiration menu. We were delighted as were our 30 guests. Everything was perfect, the welcome, the organization, the service, the food, the original and local wines, the decor by mutual agreement. And the big plus is the privatization of the hostel only for our event. A big THANK YOU for this unforgettable moment... Françoise and Antoine

02/09/2024: Venez goûter la tartelette aux figues fraîches. Une nouveauté. Subtil mélange de saveurs, pas trop sucrée, pâte brisée craquante à souhait et beaucoup de figues. Quant au reste, que de choix! Une découverte.
15/07/2024: We went through Stéphane Pasco to create our son's baptism cake and we were not disappointed with the choice: the choux buns were excellent (I don't like cabbages), the cake cake was very beautiful. and personalized.
