Le Four a Chaux sur Caromb

A wonderful discovery at Le Four à Chaux restaurant in Caromb. We went there to celebrate my little niece's birthday with my mother, and everything was perfect. The welcome was warm, the food was truly delicious, and the staff offered excellent advice, especially regarding the wine. It was a convivial and delightful experience; we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend it!

An extraordinary place! The two owners (one a winemaker, the other a restaurateur and mixologist) are both incredibly friendly and excellent in their respective fields! We initially came for a quick drink, but ended up staying for several hours. Although our visit was in winter, everything suggests that the terrace, below by the water, would offer welcome respite from the heat in summer. Baudelaire, who recommended intoxication to all, would certainly have added that this was the place to drink had he known about it.

If there's one place you absolutely must visit in the area (besides Barroux Abbey, of course 😜), it's the lime kiln!! We had a fantastic evening there; the two guys who ran it are great! A very friendly little restaurant combining restaurateurs and winemakers, listed in the Petit Futé, which I tried last night. This restaurant boasts a magnificent setting in an old factory in Chaux, a stone building on the banks of the river. The quality of the welcome and French cuisine are excellent. You will be very well received by Alexis, who is always smiling and attentive to his customers and who knows how to advise us on the wine list from our region or elsewhere. Wine lovers will be amazed by the extensive wine list. You'll have to return time and time again if you want to taste them all! 🥰 As an added bonus, this restaurant regularly offers events combining tasting menus with different wineries and a musical evening. I invite you to try it! You won't be disappointed!
