Le Freudeneck Restaurant sur Wangenbourg-Engenthal

We were hiking the GR53 and stayed here overnight. Very friendly welcome and a great room. The bathroom is a bit dated, but everything was very clean. Dinner and breakfast were ample and delicious. Highly recommended! 👍🏻

We stayed here one night during our hike. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and remarkably good value for the high quality; the breakfast buffet was fresh and plentiful. They use regional products. The location is quiet and ideal for hikers. Highly recommended!

The location is very pleasant, offering many activities such as hiking, or simply strolling through the forest while enjoying the peace and quiet and the panoramic view from the top of Wangenbourg Castle tower. For those who prefer the city, Strasbourg is a 30-minute drive away. The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable bedding. A big thank you to the owners for their kindness, warm welcome, attentiveness, and service. The meals were delicious, with beautifully presented and generous portions. We had a wonderful stay!

We were just at the restaurant. It was delicious and the service was impeccable, even though the restaurant was full.

I stayed for one night on a half-board basis to hike in the area. The owners are very welcoming. The room was clean and well-equipped (very comfortable bed). The evening meal was excellent traditional cuisine, and the portions were generous. The hotel is very well located in a beautiful wooded valley. You can set off on hikes directly from the hotel. It is easily accessible from Strasbourg, by car or even by bus.
