Le Fruitier sur Villedieu-Les-Poeles

I booked this hotel through Booking, and everything looked fine in the listing. However, the reality was quite different. The room was small, outdated, and full of flies. We had to keep the windows open for ventilation and to get rid of the flies inside the room. The property advertises a swimming pool, but we discovered upon arrival that the pool is actually about 400 meters away. It is a pool sauna ... and not owned or managed by the property, which we found misleading. Breakfast offered very limited choices. In our opinion, the overall quality, comfort, and experience did not meet the expectations of a 3-star hotel, and we found it to be somewhat overpriced. We also had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The menu selection was good, and the food quality was fair for the price. The service was a bit long but still within a reasonable timeframe. However, there were flies flying around while we were eating, which made the dining experience quite uncomfortable .

The hotel is located right in the city center and has beautiful, clean rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is highly recommended.

We had a very pleasant long weekend at Le Fruitier. Our room (Privilege category) was a little small but very well laid out, quiet, and well soundproofed. The bathroom was newly renovated and modern, with a separate toilet, although perhaps a few more clothes racks would have been nice. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, and a special mention goes to the very friendly welcome from David each morning – thank you! The restaurant, L'Atelier, offers tasty dishes; we ate very well. The hotel also offers a spa (swimming pool, hammam, and sauna) 500 meters away for an additional fee. Villedieu is a pretty little town worth visiting and is 30 minutes from Granville and Mont Saint-Michel.

We had a wonderful weekend, starting Saturday late afternoon with the hammam, pool, and sauna in a magnificent setting 🤩 It's a shame we had to leave... In the evening, we had dinner at the hotel; it was delicious. The night was perfect and very quiet... and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly.

We spent two nights there and ate dinner both times. The waiter who served us both nights was very friendly and helpful, and we loved the food—it was absolutely delicious! The burger came with so much sauce that you just had to lick your fingers clean! Delicious!

Friendly staff, spacious and very clean room. Plenty of choice for breakfast. The only downside was a strong, unpleasant odor in the corridor leading to the room in the evening, but the smell was gone the next morning.
