This restaurant was recommended by a customer in Blois. Lunchtime service was hectic because the weather was nice, and the servers were doing their best to keep up. The waiter suggested a homemade beef parmentier. Sounds good. The dish arrived quickly, but the portion was rather small, even for a daily special. The mashed potatoes were very good, though, with a light gratin topping. As for the beef, there was less than 50 grams in this portion, and it was a bit overcooked. That's why I'm giving the dish two stars. I haven't tried the other dishes, but this parmentier left me wanting more. To make up for it, there was at least Anosteke beer from back home 😉.

We came to Chez Soan for dinner as part of a seminar, with about sixty colleagues. The meal and service were impeccable: we ate very well, the staff were friendly and organized, we enjoyed the terrace, all within the allotted time.

When you want to take some time off on a Friday evening, have a drink and a mixed platter, and you want to order another platter and dessert, but the manager insists you order his dishes or he'll move you to another table, making room for other restaurant customers! What kind of treatment is this? We were customers too... On the plus side, the waiter was pleasant and very kind. As for the manager, he really should reconsider his approach to customers.
