Le grand cafe sur Lisieux

The café has really nice premises, with two rooms offering two very different atmospheres. The servers sometimes seem overwhelmed and tired, which I think explains the comments about other customers' experiences. However, I don't think you should force people to smile all the time, even in this line of work. It's not disrespectful, just a bit of a shame. Even if the servers aren't always beaming with happiness, they are always helpful. And you should see the insulting remarks they sometimes receive from other customers. Indeed, if you sit outside, you have to wait a while before being served. Perhaps making it official that you have to order inside would be helpful? It's done in many cafés, so why not here!
