Le Gros Caillou sur Saint-Sorlin-D'Arves

A little disappointed by this restaurant. A good variety of dishes, but not very original and the seasoning was a bit weak. Also, we had a reservation and still ended up inside despite it being 25°C outside because the terrace was full... And there were only three desserts left on the menu... What a shame.

An authentic place not to be missed, the oldest restaurant in Saint Sorlin. I had read that the welcome was quirky, and I wasn't disappointed. It's warm and fun at the same time; you immediately feel at ease. The cuisine is prepared with quality ingredients. A wonderful discovery! My daughter will long remember her chocolate mousse, and we'll cherish the génépi we shared with the team at the end of our meal!

Very pleasant in the summer. The waiter was very friendly, cheerful, and energetic. The kitchen staff were excellent; a quick visit at the end of service introduced me to some truly passionate cooks. I highly recommend it. I look forward to returning to Saint Sorlin d'Arves.

Le Gros Caillou, come as you are! Homemade dishes, generous mountain specialties… everything is delicious! A particular favorite is the raspberry-hazelnut tart, made with raspberries from the family garden. And above all, a huge thank you to Lionel: a unique atmosphere, top-notch service, and a memorable planter's punch! A place you'll want to return to as much for the warm welcome as for the food.

Everything was perfect, from the welcome and service to the quality of the food and the presentation. The food was top-notch. We ate very well. We came several times during our stay and were never disappointed.

Coming to Le Gros Caillou means finding happiness on your plate with dishes prepared entirely from scratch (right down to the flowers from the garden!) and quality products at affordable prices (a rarity here!). And even more happiness comes from the human connection with a team that warms your heart... so if you're coming to St Sorlin, go to Le Gros Caillou. It was our go-to spot during our 18-day holiday, unrivaled in the village. Pure bliss, joyful satisfaction, and good cheer for the whole family!

During a summer stroll, we stopped at this unusual and hidden gem in the region. And what a pleasant surprise! The friendly atmosphere, smiles, and good cheer made for a wonderful, simple experience, just as we'd hoped. The incredibly kind waiter even offered my wife a sweater, as she was feeling chilly. The local cuisine was excellent and the prices reasonable. I highly, highly, highly recommend it!

I highly recommend it. I felt right at home; Lionel is a real bon vivant. The food is varied and delicious. We came three times during our stay, and each time we left thinking, "We'll book for next week." Unfortunately, next week isn't possible anymore; we're going home. A great time was had by all, sharing with the other tables.

A friendly restaurant with a menu featuring tempting Savoyard homemade dishes... Very affordable compared to other restaurants and, above all, delicious!!! Whether as a couple or a family, we've been twice and had a great time and, most importantly, enjoyed a wonderful meal... The staff is fantastic and there's a great atmosphere in the dining room 👍 By the way, the "Planteur" (a shot of punch) is highly recommended 💕
