12/09/2024: An old-fashioned neighborhood restaurant for regulars. No pretension, everything is simple, direct, without fuss. But, in this genre, it is absolutely exceptional, it is so generous, so tasty, so good. The portions are the opposite of the price, which remains quite moderate. Not only do I absolutely recommend it, but Vin Coeur is the example that all neighborhood restaurants should follow!
11/08/2024: I visited Le Vin Coeur on a hot day in summer. Many restaurants in the area were closed, presumably because of the Olympic marathon, so I was delighted to stumble on this warm and authentic restaurant. I immediately felt at home and sat in the pleasant shaded terraced area. I wish every waiter in neighbourhood spots across the world was like the waiter at Le Vin coeur: relaxed, friendly, welcoming and attentive.
The food was fresh and tasty. While I was disappointed not to have the full breadth of the menu to choose from - at this lunch service, only pizzas were available, but this was understandable given the quietness of the area and the disruption presumably caused by the marathon - I very much enjoyed my tartiflette pizza, which was well-balanced and full of flavour.
For dessert, the strawberry tart was like a delicious upgrade to the English classic, strawberries and cream (no offence intended!) ;) The vanilla cake base, sweet and light cream and fresh strawberries satisfied me the way only a dessert prepared in a real kitchen can.
I would recommend Le Vin coeur to any traveller who is looking for a satisfying meal and would like to feel taken care of in a cosy neighbourhood restaurant.
