A wonderful discovery in the beautiful hilltop village of Saorge. A warm, simple, and friendly welcome, just the way we like it, and an exceptional Swiss fondue :-) The owner, waiter, and staff are all perfectly in sync! A village café like they used to make. We'll be back.

Sadly, the plat du jour was a letdown — pretty tasteless, almost like microwave food, and not what I’d expect for €14.50. It was packed with rice, which isn’t how I picture a gratin de courgette. The location makes up for a lot though — beautiful spot with a lovely terrace.

We discovered the HEINZ CAFÉ this weekend, and frankly, it was a most pleasant discovery! Starting with the location, which is remarkable thanks to its outdoor terrace, typical of our region's "Eagle's Nest" villages. But above all, the food is excellent, and the owners and their waiters are truly welcoming and kind! The icing on the cake is that they are passionate about music and organize concerts and musical evenings throughout the year! We will be back very soon, and thanks again to Mark and his wife for the wonderful time we had! P.S.: Greetings to Tcitcho....
