The Marseille History Museum is very interesting and well laid out. It covers 2000 years of history, is very comprehensive, and is well explained.

A historical site we happened to visit out of the corner of our eye as we walked from the St. Charles train station to our hotel in the old port. You can see the stone ruins.

The walk around the harbor is very beautiful. There's a market in the morning, especially on Sundays, where you can enjoy street food, in addition to fish and flowers. Along the promenade, there are several bars and a few soap shops.

Marseille, Port Antique, Ancient Port, the ancient Greek port was founded by Greek settlers who arrived in the 6th century BC. Greek sailors from the eastern Aegean founded the city in 600 BC under the name Massialia. The site is located in the 1st arrondissement, behind the Centre Bourse shopping mall. The site was part of the ancient Greek city of Massalia. It includes parts of the ancient port and city walls, three square towers and a gate.
