To be honest, it didn't appeal to me at all; it's free but nothing special. Next door is the history museum, which we didn't go into because we ran out of time.

Lovely open spaces touristy spot

Worth doing once if you're in the area.

I found it quite surprising to be able to see such ancient traces of Marseille in the heart of such a vibrant city. It adds another layer of depth to the neighborhood and makes you realize just how far back the city's history goes. This kind of place doesn't require much time to explore, but it's still worthwhile for understanding the origins of Marseille.

Visited last month with my family. It's still impressive to see these Greek ruins right in the city center, next to the Bourse shopping center! The museum next door is really great for understanding the history of Massalia. The pros: Superb, peaceful setting Very well maintained Combined ticket with the museum is a great deal The cons: The reception and security check at the entrance: a feeling of repression from the moment you arrive, with searches and borderline aggressive instructions, which puts you off immediately before you even start the visit... A lack of interactive displays or augmented reality to better visualize the port as it was; you have to use your imagination. Almost no shade in the middle of summer and not enough benches to sit on. No small café/refreshment stand on site to have a drink with a view of the ruins. A great historical spot in Marseille, but the reception area needs improvement and more facilities for visitors should be added. I still recommend it if you're in the area!

An iconic, historic, and underrated site... you don't realize when you walk there that you're also treading on the first Roman road! It deserves more maintenance!

One of the most beautiful museums I've ever visited. Not only is it FREE, but it also has a free audio guide in several languages ​​(including Italian) that explains things in an interesting way. Overall, the exhibition is very well organized, with several interactive points where you can learn more about certain information or play educational games. It's truly appreciated; I wish I'd actually paid for a ticket; it's worth it. For a complete, unhurried visit, I'd give it at least 3 hours.

A must-see for anyone interested in the history of Marseille, even those of you who used to pass by it every day on your way to the Centre Bourse and the Natural History Museum.
