One of the island's must-visit restaurants. A small dining room with only 26 covers, so reservations are highly recommended (don't hesitate to use the waiting list on Zenchef). In a beautifully decorated setting, a team of passionate chefs welcomes you with a menu featuring 100% fish (except for desserts). The menu is thoroughly explained, detailing both the ingredients (locally caught) and their preparation. And speaking of preparation, you can sense this team's enormous desire to explore, experiment, and surprise. Prepare yourself for a delightful culinary journey. If I were to offer a single comment (a suggestion would be presumptuous coming from a novice like myself), it would be that sophistication is pleasing, but sometimes simplicity pays off too.

For us, this small, exquisite restaurant is the absolute culinary highlight in France and unsurpassed anywhere else. You immediately feel at home in the charming, original, and tranquil atmosphere, without background music. All the dishes are little works of art for the eyes, and their taste and refinement are second to none. Furthermore, the vegetables and fruits are organically grown. The wine list is excellent; the staff provides expert advice and invites you to sample the wines. The young team is extremely friendly, accommodating, and patient. We have been visiting our favorite restaurant regularly for at least 15 years, 5 to 6 evenings in September, often with friends and family, and everyone is delighted. We will gladly return!

The kind of discovery that stays etched in the mind of a lover of refined, precise, and distinctive cuisine! The agnolotti (I hope I haven't butchered the Italian word too much) are absolutely divine, and the fish dishes are so good they'll bring tears of joy to even the most sensitive palates. I choose my words carefully when I write this humble review, but I would cross France from my native Alsace a hundred times over to eat here again. The combinations are original, the top-quality local produce is showcased with great finesse, and the portions are generous. You'll find creativity, indulgence, and true technical mastery all at once. The maître d'hôtel is an aesthete. The service is sumptuous, witty, and meticulously planned, with the drink suggestions and the descriptions of the dishes executed to perfection. The restaurant is intimate, beautiful, and steeped in history. Seats are limited, so be sure to book! It's one of those places you leave thinking, "I'll have to come back."

A true discovery and a huge favorite! Le Jour du Poisson is exactly the kind of restaurant I love: passionate people who don't just serve excellent seafood, but create a truly memorable experience. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly executed, from the appetizer to the dessert, with an excellent cocktail and a perfectly chosen wine to complement the meal. You can feel their passion in the presentation and explanations of each dish. Add to that a warm welcome, genuine kindness, and a team that truly enjoys sharing their world… We were captivated from beginning to end. A wonderful place on Oléron, one we will treasure and return to without hesitation.

The food was of very high quality, and the chefs and waiters were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Homemade cuisine using ingredients from the Île d'Oléron. Unique flavors and excellent presentation. In short... don't hesitate.
