A magnificent basilica that has just been restored. I have never seen a place of worship so close to its original state. Magnificent.

A great discovery; it's well worth stopping to visit the city. I was traveling towards Lyon and was struck by the detail of the buildings constructed with volcanic rock. The basilica, with its dark hue, is already impressive. The interior, which appeared to be restored, is calming, and you can see paintings and statues. A Romanesque basilica that is a must-see. Entry is free, although you should be aware of the opening hours.

A small basilica in the shadow of Clermont-Ferrand's grand cathedral, but one that certainly doesn't need to feel small! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, so much so that we returned the next day, so charmed were we. I highly recommend visiting it if you're ever in Clermont.
