Disappointed by the atmosphere and some aspects of the service. There was tension between the waitress and the manager, and it was very busy. A shame, as it was well located. This will be our only experience there.
This restaurant has a dining room right on the seafront. The oysters were good, but we had to ask twice for part of our order. Cleanliness is definitely not this establishment's strong point. For example, the bottle cooler was filthy...and rather lukewarm—what's the point of putting a bottle in it to keep it cold? The counter was covered in papers and leftover food that hadn't been cleared away. It's a shame this place would benefit so much more from making an effort with its upkeep, making customers want to come back. We ended up having coffee at another establishment, and it was like night and day. Nothing was out of place, the counter was spotless, and the dishes were completely spotless.
The waiter was very pleasant and attentive.
What a strange idea to put tables so far from the kitchen! Royan missed an opportunity... you see signs saying masks are mandatory under the arcades, but they design a restaurant dining room without any possibility of washing your hands! As for the waiter, he's constantly going back and forth between the kitchen and the dining room in the rain, and in winter the food gets a bit cold... clearly the town hall lacks respect for its workers. The mussels marinière were very good and the portion was generous. The baby squid in garlic cream was also good. The food was decent.
