Le Marin'Boël sur Guichen

A beautiful sunny day led us, after a hike, to stop for a drink in the late afternoon on the lawn overlooking the Vilaine River. We were greeted by a waiter who refused to let us put our table in the sun and then asked us to use the tables stored to the side, saying, "If there are more tables, there will be more customers." He then went on for several minutes to explain his work life: the long hours he'd worked the day before and, since April, his life at a ski resort where he had to add rows of deck chairs, which meant more work for him... We waited for ages before he took our order, and he criticized us for going to the bar to get a bottle of water. He belittled the apprentice. He made it very clear that whipped cream was an extra charge on the waffle. He clearly didn't want more customers, refused to sell us anything, complained about his working conditions... He was very cold in his replies, always saying "No!" The waiter's attitude was unbelievable and unprofessional. The servers seem disorganized. They don't know which tables are waiting to be served, and they wander around with trays full of drinks, ice cream, and waffles in the blazing sun... When you mention to the owner how unfriendly your server is, he expresses surprise... He must not read the reviews... It's a shame because I've been to the crêperie several times (same owners) and I've always been satisfied...

We chose to hold our wedding reception at Marin'Boël because we were familiar with the venue, the setting, and the cuisine. However, dining there as a couple or with 45 guests requires very different planning... We were delighted with our day, to which Cédric greatly contributed by being available, helpful, and attentive to our needs. Everything went wonderfully, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal. So yes, we hope to only get married once, but we'll definitely be back very soon!

A wonderful discovery! 😊 We had lunch on the terrace, in a peaceful and truly lovely setting. We received a warm welcome from very friendly staff. We went on a Friday and opted for the set lunch menu, with a choice of two starters and two main courses, and a dessert suggestion, with the option to order à la carte. The service was quick, and the dishes were delicious, offering excellent value for money. Everything is homemade, even the ice cream, which is a real plus. On Fridays, you can also order à la carte, which is a definite advantage. And after your meal, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Le Boël for a lovely walk. 🌿 I highly recommend this place! 👍

Young, dynamic, smiling and efficient staff, very good food, pleasant setting

The setting is nice, the menu too, the staff... The only downside, but they don't choose it: the passing trains.

An excellent meal in a magnificent setting. A charming, smiling, and attentive team, as well as a welcoming manager who went out of his way to make his customers feel welcome. And to top it all off, we had the pleasure of dining to live music thanks to some fantastic musicians. A truly wonderful evening, which we highly recommend!

The team was super friendly, the service was great. I came to celebrate my father-in-law and mother's birthdays, and all three of us left very satisfied. The service team is young and gives their all to ensure you have a good time; it's really enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

We went for dinner on Saturday evening and everything was perfect. The setting, all the homemade dishes, and the staff were top-notch 😉 Thank you again for this wonderful evening; we will gladly return to try the other dishes and the ice cream 😇
