Le Mayombe restaurant in Toulouse is a wonderful discovery for lovers of African cuisine. A big thank you to Serge, who was very attentive and offered helpful advice with a smile. The African-inspired decor creates a warm and exotic atmosphere. A friendly place where the food is excellent and the service truly makes all the difference.

Excellent African restaurant. I recommend the travel menu. And the chili sauce is especially delicious.

This restaurant is a lovely place with a warm welcome! We ordered takeout and were lucky enough to be offered a complimentary glass of rum punch (planter's punch) while we waited. The food was delicious; there's no denying it was generous and full of flavor. I'll definitely be back! 😌

EDIT 2026: I go back regularly, the atmosphere is great, the saka-saka is delicious too, we've sometimes been offered rum, and I just discovered that Père Gaby's chili pepper is sold pretty much everywhere!! Delicious!!! I went there a year ago, it was okay... I went back yesterday and it was much better than okay! The waitress is great! The dishes are oh my god, a delight, the music isn't too loud, just right and pleasant, the wine cellar is very nice too, and that mafe is sooooo good, oh my god!

The "Missionary" dish was excellent!!! Honestly, everything was delicious. The "Escape" menu offers a variety of dishes, each as succulent as the next. The planter's punch was also very good. And of course, let's not forget the warm welcome from the owner and the great atmosphere.

Back in this wonderful place where I had the opportunity to work when I was a student (for just a few months), but which I remember fondly. 25 years later, Father Gabi is still there, the food is still excellent, and the atmosphere is just as warm. Pure bliss! I'm heading back to my Basque Country with a few jars of chili peppers prepared by Gabi and with a heart full of emotion. 🙏🫶
