⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Le Méchoui du Prince – Paris We came here wanting to eat good lamb in Paris. We were initially hesitant because the heavy use of spices in Moroccan cuisine hasn't appealed to our taste buds in our past experiences. However, after hearing about the slow-cooked lamb, we decided to try it. And we're so glad we did! The lamb shoulder was truly excellent. The meat was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful. The ease with which the fibers separated was a beautiful result of the long and controlled cooking technique. The spices didn't overpower the meat's natural aroma. The portion was quite large and filling. The vegetable soup and couscous with raisins and chickpeas served alongside complemented the meal beautifully. The slightly sweet touch of the couscous, in particular, created a pleasant balance with the rich flavor of the lamb. Our wine choice was M. Chapoutier Côtes-du-Rhône 2024. This red wine, carrying the fruity and slightly spicy character of the Rhône Valley, was quite enjoyable with its smooth and easy-drinking flavor. It paired perfectly with the intense flavor of the lamb. We arrived at opening time and the restaurant was quiet, but it quickly filled up completely. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, a good listener, and confident in the dishes he presented. Our service experience was extremely positive. My only constructive suggestion concerns the lighting. Instead of the strong wall lights, using dimmer, warmer general lighting and individual lights at the tables would make the atmosphere much more elegant and inviting. In conclusion, excellent lamb, generous portions, a successful wine pairing, and a warm welcome. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting to eat good lamb in Paris. Thank you for everything. Definitely worth a revisit!
