We sat on the terrace in a narrow street; a beautiful, authentic, atmospheric street in a quintessentially French setting. Casting for a movie. The menu? Simple but delicious. The service? So incredibly bad it almost became an art. Even though we had reservations, we were initially completely ignored. The two waitresses perfected the art of "pretending not to exist." Seating? At most, a casual hand gesture and a shrug: you figure it out. 0.0 beer? "Non." And then walk away. Too bad, we thought — until the table next to us was generously provided with 0.0 Leffe. Our French really isn't that bad... A starter? "Non!" Salt and pepper, no! They did bring it after our plates were long empty... The sauce and mayo for the fish never arrived. Oh yes, there were dishes on the table but no cutlery. Still, I waited a good 10 minutes for it… Then the showstopper: the Aperol Spritz, which the waitress threw all over the table. Oh well, it happens. “Désolée!” — but a new glass didn't arrive. Dessert: a dame blanche. “With hot chocolate?” “No!” “But… it is a dame blanche, isn't it?” “Bien sûr!” “So it does have chocolate?” “Oui, mais choco froid!” Ah yes, of course… that's also an option. Cold chocolate, how could I forget that? Tea? “No.” After some insistence and a crestfallen look. “Maybe… I'll check.” In short: culinary fine, service inimitable. An evening full of entertainment.

We had a great time, a huge salad for my wife and an andouillette for me... DELICIOUS. WARM WELCOME, we'll be back. REMEMBER TO BOOK.
