Le Mesclun sur Vallauris

I had lunch at Le Mesclun last week. We ordered the butcher's cut with fries, which were delicious, and a beef stew with polenta, which were exquisite. The presentation was very elegant, the service was attentive; in short, I highly recommend it! 😁

I called on Saturday to reserve a table for 12 for a double birthday celebration. The person on the phone made it clear that they were familiar with tables of 12 and that we needed to be on time because, as they said, "I know tables of 12, you can't fool me!" Which I can understand. Because the restaurant closes at 9:30 PM and after that it won't be possible. Because the restaurant closes at 10:30 PM, after all this information. So, to avoid any risk, we arrived at 7:30 PM to be sure not to interfere with closing time. The place was really nice! We were warmly welcomed at first. It's a shame they didn't tell us about the daily specials. We had to guess them ourselves and look at the sign in the distance. I advise you to bring your glasses as it's 2 meters away. Or stand up. Besides, the waitress wasn't very bright; she let my friend take notes on everyone's dishes. (Isn't that your job? You know how to manage tables of 12, right?) Everything went well at mealtimes. The food was excellent and not very expensive; everyone enjoyed it. Then, when it came time for dessert, we waited 20 minutes because we thought we'd get the dessert menu, but at the last minute, she told us it was only given verbally and just said "desserts." I'm sorry, but I have dysphasia, so I'm disabled; I can't memorize the menu. And after three attempts to get her to repeat it... Especially when it's inconvenient, like when the waitress has a lisp... I asked for it to be written down so everyone would understand. (By the way, a little tip: it's written half-erased, "Desserts at the back of the room" 😘👌) The desserts didn't arrive at the same time. And since it was our birthday, we waited 10 minutes for our dessert, so everyone had already finished theirs... so it was ridiculous to blow out our candles late... and be in such a rush to eat. And the manager, she must have been getting a bit annoying because she started taking down the fans, putting everything away... Okay, maybe we're in the way? Was she trying to tell us she wanted to close? Even though we had the biggest table and I think the highest turnover of the evening, you still accepted a family of four at 9:30 pm, so... Anyway! Not a smile, not a happy birthday. She just wanted to finish her shift. And on top of that, she complained that everyone wanted to pay separately, which most people obviously didn't understand. It took 5 minutes to get her to understand, otherwise we would have left. Unfortunately... I didn't have a good time at this restaurant. It was my birthday with my sweetheart, and we were both born on June 15th. The guests only remembered the negative aspects of the service throughout... So it affected my morale, and I regret choosing your restaurant... It seemed really nice... and the prices were reasonable... But what a shame... What a shame... The food is great, but the staff... Unfortunately, you need to improve your customer service; it's key to your revenue, especially with a table of 12. You have to pamper them then. I'm in the Vallauris area... now I'll go to 36... at least they understand their customers and they're welcoming... So, never again...

A lovely discovery! A hearty and excellent meal. Fresh produce. The service is very pleasant, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The homemade desserts... to die for! Chestnut sponge cake, melon soup, tiramisu, Paris-Brest pastries, yum. I highly recommend it.

A great restaurant! Special mentions for the homemade foie gras and the Corsican charcuterie! The mussels are excellent, I highly recommend this restaurant!
