Le moulin de la Tardoire sur Montbron

After making a reservation on their website, we received two emails within four days asking if we were still available. Upon arrival, we weren't asked if we minded eating outside, and we were seated under the linden tree. Given the rather chilly evening, this should have been mentioned earlier. While it's certainly a pleasant spot, it's a shame the tables are so close together, making it difficult to fully enjoy the evening without clearly hearing conversations from neighboring tables. Some soft background music would also create a more pleasant atmosphere and better preserve the privacy of each table. For our aperitif, we decided on a Gin and Tonic and a house cocktail. This so-called house cocktail turned out to be a simple glass bottle, uncapped and placed on the table. As for the service, we were more than a little disappointed. Indeed, at times, the service was provided from the left, from the right, and even by reaching across the room. However, regarding the quality of the meal, there was nothing to complain about: everything was truly excellent, bursting with flavor. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, though, I don't really see the difference between it and a very good non-starred restaurant, especially considering the price difference. To top it all off, we received an email the very next morning at 7:00 a.m. asking if we had enjoyed our evening. I find this a bit premature and especially early, even if it's probably an automated process.

The food was amazing, not being able to speak French it was very difficult to understand what our waitress was telling us about the dishes. We weren't the only British people in the restaurant who were struggling with the menu (Google translate helped us) but if there is an improvement possible I would suggest that there is one or two copies of the menu in English. We went to a restaurant in Sarzeau near the Gulf of Morbihan that did just. that
