Le Moulin du Gastronome sur Charnay-Les-Macon

We are lucky enough to spend a lot of time in the region and we enjoy trying the many restaurants in the area. Unfortunately this one will not be part of our “to do again” list, nothing to say about the kindness of the welcome and the service. On the other hand, charge 50€ for a menu which is worth 30€ if we compare with other restaurants in Fuissé, Solutre, Berze la ville which systematically charge prices lower than 40€ for superior quality. Regarding the decor, it's difficult to be more minimalist. Now when I read the other comments at 5/5 I tell myself that there is something for everyone and all the better if people are happy. On the other hand, a nice wine list.

Restaurant for 2 on a Saturday evening during a holiday weekend. Many people were at the hotel. Restaurant room: too white, too smooth for my taste. It lacks color, personality, warmth. Service: efficient, friendly. Special mention for the server. Cuisine: a single menu with 2 starter choices, 2 main courses and 1 dessert. Menu that changes every 15 days, a sign of quality. A few small bites for an aperitif: very good Appetizer endive salad covered with an espuma of mussel juice: espuma too thick, not airy, in too large a quantity and which hardly tastes like mussels. Meal: It's colorful, very well presented but there are a few downsides as far as I'm concerned. Starter with truffle which adds nothing since it has no taste. Otherwise tasty starter with scallops cooked just right. Fish: char and its garnish which lacks pep. 3 tiny crayfish and sauce not spicy enough Dessert which was very good. But it’s a shame there isn’t a choice of desserts. Bread probably cut in advance because it is a little dry. 50 euros per menu...I expect a little more: more originality, discovery and taste [for the main course].

Order taking: the advice is relevant, and preferences and allergies are taken into account. The dishes are fine and delicious. The cellar is rich and varied. The service is fast. Prices are rather moderate, considering the high level of quality. We were celebrating my partner's birthday and my first restaurant after surgery in September. This establishment was the best possible choice for this double occasion.

Excellent restaurant and faultless service. A smiling and super friendly server. Nice wine list and it accepts doggies :) We slept well, the rooms conform to the description. We will return without hesitation!
