This hotel is a haven of peace, where time flows at the river's pace: peacefully! The setting is lush and green, where stone, vegetation, and water blend harmoniously. The staff is welcoming and discreet. The Moulin du Roc restaurant is a gastronomic surprise not to be missed. We discovered classic dishes that the kitchen team transformed into unexpected delights. The desserts also surprised us, with a special mention for the iced black truffle.

Definitely the best meal we had in France across all of our travels. • We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Le Moulin du Roc during our time in the Dordogne, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. • The setting alone is exceptional. Nestled along the Dronne River in a beautifully restored historic mill, the restaurant is surrounded by lush gardens and the soothing sound of flowing water. We began our meal indoors by a window overlooking the patio and river, which already felt special, but what truly elevated the experience was being invited to move outside for dessert and coffee. Sitting on the patio right beside the bridge and river, with the gentle sound of the mill and birds in the background, was simply magical. • The food was equally impressive. Each dish was thoughtful, refined, and beautifully balanced. The asparagus with wild garlic and citrus was fresh and delicate, while the foie gras with smoked eel, apple, and cassis stood out as the best we have had in France. The mains were just as memorable, perfectly cooked Charolais beef with a rich, elegant sauce and local trout prepared with great precision and flavor. • Service was attentive, personalized, and genuinely warm, with a team that clearly knows and cares deeply about what they do. • A truly exceptional experience from start to finish. Everything was perfect: the setting, refined yet authentic; the service, highly professional without ever being intrusive, as is sometimes the case in this category of establishment; and the food, refined and original. You can feel the staff's genuine pleasure in pleasing their customers. In short, a big thumbs up!

A romantic getaway from April 3rd to 4th, 2026, as part of a Staycation at Le Moulin du Roc. The overall experience was very pleasant: the room is superb, the setting is ideal, calm and relaxing, perfect for a romantic escape. The staff are truly outstanding, attentive, smiling, and incredibly caring; we felt truly privileged throughout our stay. We left feeling refreshed and with wonderful memories of the warm welcome we received. 😊 The package included a welcome cocktail, dinner, breakfast, and a picnic lunch. However, there was one drawback, which I believe is more related to the Staycation itself than to the establishment: the offer description stated, among other things: "At Ròda, each dish tells a story of the region." Chef Alain Gardillou has created an à la carte menu where Périgord truffles, strawberries, walnuts, and Salers beef take center stage (…) the meal unfolds at your own pace, with the freedom to build your culinary journey from appetizer to dessert.” However, in reality, we had no opportunity to create our own menu or choose our dishes, despite what the Staycation presentation suggested. The appetizer and dessert were very good, but the main course offered was much simpler (chicken and mashed potatoes, to put it bluntly, of course, everything was very well prepared), without cheese or any alternative options. This is all the more frustrating because some of the products highlighted in the description were truly enticing, particularly the chef's beef and the langoustine, which we were hoping to try. This discrepancy between the advertised promise and the actual experience was a real disappointment. In the end, even though what we were served was good, we didn't quite feel we got our money's worth in terms of the food, considering what was advertised. This doesn't detract from the quality of the service or the charm of the place, but I think this point deserves to be made clearer to avoid any confusion. Thank you again to the whole team for your kindness, your smiles, and your professionalism.

An exceptional brunch, perfectly in line with a price that might seem a bit high. A cozy atmosphere, attentive servers, and above all, a very high-quality buffet with a selection that exceeded all expectations (oysters, foie gras, hot and cold dishes, pastries, eggs prepared in every way imaginable, cakes, fruit, and my personal favorite: the cheese platter that would make even the most discerning palate swoon!). Absolutely nothing to complain about... Not a single flaw. Oh, except for one: the state of my stomach after trying everything... See you very soon.
