Le Petit Plat sur Marseille

I go there very often when I come down from Switzerland for an OM match... this Monday is the first time where I'm a little disappointed with my Cesar salad... probably a small mistake... I'll go back anyway

It was strongly advised that if I wanted a dessert, then passing on a starter would be a sensibly strategic decision. And so it proved. We wanted something local, something French, something easy, something good… Le Petit Plat scored on all counts, most notably the friendly service and informal atmosphere. We sat in the extended pavement enclosure - mostly glass - and from it we could watch the Marseille nightlife pass by. The menu is not the most extensive but there’s plenty of choice and what we had - the steak and the chicken - was thoroughly enjoyed. But it was the tiramisu and the rum baba that together, stole the show. ‘Homemade’ is the key to each one’s success ; both were delicious. But more - ‘ginormous’ doesn’t even scratch the surface of a descriptor. €90 all in.
