Le Phare sur Ouistreham

Friendly waiters, but the opening hours are a bit confusing... Nice view of the port. I'm not familiar with the hotel.

This review refers to the restaurant. I don't usually rate anything below four stars, but in this case, the visit left a bad impression, and I think it's only fair to share it. While exploring the area, we noticed the restaurant's attractive exterior and excellent location. However, upon entering, we saw that the tables—at least the interior ones—were very small, to the point of being uncomfortable. We ordered a Faux Filet and the Chef's Suggestion, which was a Ribeye Steak Normandy. The Filet wasn't great, but the worst part was that the Suggestion was one of the worst ribeye steaks I can remember. Tough and with a lot of gristle. The Tarte Tatin was good. The service wasn't particularly attentive or friendly either, except for the receptionist who showed us the way to the restaurant. I hope this review helps them improve, as the location itself is fantastic.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Ouistreham, and especially the Hôtel Restaurant Le Phare. The food was generous, the breakfast delicious, and the staff attentive to guests' needs and very welcoming – a real pleasure. The room was perfect, with comfortable bedding. The location is excellent, a lively area, lovely for walking, and directly accessible from a beautiful cycle path for exploring this beautiful region. Thank you to all the staff!
