Excellent product. We thoroughly enjoyed the frog leg casserole with the steak and the truffade. And the homemade dessert was delicious.

A delightful discovery! This restaurant, located in the upper part of Royat, offers the option of sitting on a terrace right by the road (with virtually no traffic). The set menu was €29, featuring a generous truffade for one of us and a superb piece of Salers beef, cooked to perfection, for the other. Delicious desserts included a rum baba, with a bottle of rum left for guests to help themselves. The service was impeccable and attentive. Drinks were reasonably priced. Overall, excellent value for money at this establishment, which we highly recommend.

As local shopkeepers, we regularly come to Picrocole, which is an excellent restaurant. They serve Auvergne cuisine with generous portions. Jules always provides top-notch service with a smile. Highly recommended!

We were looking for a nice little restaurant near our accommodation, and we followed the Google reviews: we're so glad we did! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the welcome was fantastic. The service was quick (and charming! 😍). The dishes were simple but well-prepared, using fresh, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The only downside: no vegetarian options. But we highly recommend it!

La Belle Meuniere

17/05/2026: We stayed one night at La Belle Meunière and had dinner there (as part of our Wonderbox voucher). The room was very pleasant and well laid out. However, all the rooms are located below the restaurant, so in the evening (from 6 pm until 11 pm/11:30 pm) and in the morning (from 7 am), we had the heavy noise of footsteps (and some tables/chairs being dragged) overhead (not very pleasant if you're sensitive to noise). The welcome from the manager was very good, and we ate very well, but we wouldn't return to stay overnight. We also benefited from priority passes to access the Royatonic, which was a nice touch.
14/05/2026: A perfect evening just steps from home. Excellent cuisine, a kind chef, a warm welcome… the place is sublime. Thank you to the owners of La Belle Meunière who clearly enjoy making their guests happy. We stayed until the early hours, enjoying a tastefully and stylishly decorated room and a generous and delicious breakfast. Thank you, it was a real gem and I highly recommend it!
