Le Pilier des Anges is located on the street directly opposite Strasbourg Cathedral. It's well-situated and quite lively because it's a pedestrian street, so you won't see any cars, just tourists, tourists, and more tourists, all mesmerized by the place. The service is excellent, and the food is simply divine. It's a great spot to enjoy French cuisine with a German twist, creating an incredible fusion.

19/04/2026: First time experience of Alsatian cuisine. Followed menu suggestion from ChatGPT and very satisfied. Highly recommended. Best to go with a reservation.
16/04/2026: A very good experience at this restaurant; the tarte flambée is excellent and the setting is beautiful. The waiter was very friendly, but there was a mistake with our drink order, and we had to wait a while for our coffee and ask for it. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this restaurant to tourists visiting Strasbourg.

La Lanterne (microbrasserie)

17/04/2026: A charming brasserie on a quieter street in Strasbourg, with friendly service, excellent beers, and well-made beer cocktails. The traditional cuisine was superb (we had two cordon bleu).
17/04/2026: A great bar for spending the evening with colleagues who work on photonic lanterns. Very friendly service and generous portions.
