Lots of choice of local fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices if you live in the Paris region. For locals, I understand that it is too expensive. Avoid melon which has no taste and certain fruits are harvested too early such as plums which have difficulty ripening. Only the outdoor stands are too expensive, for example olives at 20€/kg, don't go overboard...
