Beautiful table. All the dishes we tasted were excellent: roasted scallops, calf's head, and the desserts Grand Marnier soufflé and mango tartlet.

For a small town like Barbizon, finding a restaurant like this is fantastic for tourists.
The dining environment was excellent; almost every table was occupied when we went for dinner, showing how popular it is.
We chose steak and fish for our main courses, both of which were very well prepared and enjoyed by my family.
For dessert, we opted for an apple pie, recommended by the waiter as a classic French dessert/cake. Unfortunately, it was too sweet for us. In developed Eastern countries like China, South Korea, and Japan, people tend to eat less sweet food for health reasons, but we believe it's a popular dessert among locals.
Would recommend to have a try.

A nice little restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is good, but not exceptional, and the prices are a bit high for what it is.
The service, however, lacked a bit of attention to detail: our order was taken before the fresh ingredients (like the fish) were presented to us, there were a few missing side dishes, and the bottle of wine was simply placed on the table without being poured.
These are minor details, but in a restaurant of this caliber, one expects more attentive service.
Overall, the experience is decent, but for the same price, you can find better quality food and more refined service. Therefore, I think the rating is a bit inflated and I'm giving it 3 stars.

The food is delicious, the service less so.
High-quality ingredients, carefully prepared, a touch of creative flair without excessive sophistication, and precise cooking.
The young servers are smiling and attentive. In the dining room, the problem lies with the management: distant, inattentive, and indifferent.
Perhaps this table should be reserved for its regulars; they seem to receive a better welcome.

Update: A quick update to my review. It's become very complicated to book. The last two times we've had a problem with online reservations. Last time, we didn't get confirmation (even though the reservation was made early in the day, stating that there was still space available), so we drove an hour to come specifically, and were told that the reservation hadn't been processed. The person on the phone made no effort and wasn't accommodating (even though the problem was theirs), and I've been a regular customer since 2018... It's not very businesslike. However, I thank them, because thanks to this mishap, we were able to discover one of their competitors, which is excellent. In short, quickly change your online reservation app, and remember that respecting loyal customers is a cool concept in business.
Otherwise, nothing to complain about last time in terms of the quality of the food offered. Too bad.
Old: Excellent restaurant, nothing to complain about. Very good service, excellent dishes and desserts, and a magnificent wine list.

During a business trip, we booked a table at this restaurant. I'd heard a lot about it… personally, we had a good time, but there were a few mistakes with the dishes, so we couldn't all eat together, and some dishes arrived cold. I think it's a good restaurant, but the staff wasn't fully engaged.

Lovely setting. Classic cuisine but good, even if a little disappointed by Axel's signature desserts. Glasses of wine with no real flare. However, there are good bottles on the menu. The service was decent and efficient, but the waitresses should learn to smile. Especially one who seemed to be the chef. Surprising for this type of establishment.
