Le Gaulois Sur Le Grill sur Barbizon

A brief moment out of time. When I was planning my week's vacation in Seine-et-Marne, and more specifically my visit to Barbizon, I had initially chosen a different restaurant. Unusually, I checked the reviews for that establishment. The poor quality of service was mentioned several times... So I looked for another and came across Le Gaulois. There, the reviews were glowing about the hospitality. So I decided to eat at Le Gaulois. After my experience, I'm very happy with my choice. I had a truly relaxing time there, which greatly enhanced my well-being for the day. I was first greeted by a woman of rare beauty, elegance, and grace. Smiling and gentle, I realized that she was probably the one I had texted when I made my reservation. I smiled afterward because the three young men serving and working the bar also looked like they'd stepped out of a modeling agency! Helpful and smiling without ever being obsequious, they took excellent care of me throughout my meal. I had lunch in a small, covered courtyard, which was also particularly charming. The eggs meurette were excellent, the beef fillet exceptionally tender, and the homemade fries perfectly complemented the rest of the meal. The floating island dessert with its crème anglaise completed this complete success. I hope to return before I leave; it all depends on some acquaintances I need to meet before my departure. Thank you to the chef and the entire team.

There were six of us in Fontainebleau this weekend, and we had dinner at this restaurant on Friday evening. A very warm welcome. Fast and impeccable service. Hello, We've known this establishment since the previous owner, and last night was fantastic! The management was very welcoming, friendly, and smiling, while the waiters and waitresses were top-notch. Dinner was simple but excellent. We weren't expecting to find a place like this… one of those places you discover almost by chance. We arrived at 1:50 pm and they gave us a table even though the sign says they close at 2 pm. The restaurant has a terrace, a dining room, and a garden. We ordered several dishes to share and, honestly, we were very surprised by the quality. Everything was beautifully presented. The staff was also attentive without being pushy, which was much appreciated. We ordered sardines in oil, snails, quiche, meat, and stew. My companions said the snails were the best they'd had in the area. The meat and the stew were quite good. For dessert, we had crème brûlée and the floating island, both delicious, but we especially loved the island! The only downside was that when we arrived, they offered us the garden, but it was full. They said they would move us when there was space, but that didn't happen.

Excellent restaurant serving classic cuisine. High-quality ingredients prepared with care, both in terms of cooking and seasoning. Very friendly service, pleasant staff, great atmosphere, and fantastic French music. For offal lovers, this is the place to go for a delicious meal... but not only that.... Excellent wine list. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
